And here's Hera! (lol) I actually like Hera tho I know she's not a very popular goddess in modern view. I see her being very severe but at the same time a lioness when it comes to taking care of her kids.
Oooh, I really dig this design. And yes, I think Hera generally gets the short end of the stick in how she's represented - always the bitter jealous wife, never the goddess of marriage or the loving mother or the bewitching young goddess etcetera etcetera. I like her. And this design! *grin*
I love the colors of her dress And I agree: the PErcy JAckson seires makes her appear heartless and shallow and I think there's more to her than just wwhat she seems to be
Yup. I mean, I get it: it's the author's perspective. But it just sends a screwed up vibe to everyone that Hera should never have feelings and no one should ever feel empathy towards her! Sigh...
I think the most egregious instance is Hercules the Legendary Journeys show. I dont know if you seen it, it's SUPER campy. Hera is like this huge vindictive pair of like, green eyes in the sky whose only point is to like, make everyone's lives miserable. :/
